True Reflection by Kim Kardashian

Only real business women highlight the important stages of their lives through business ventures, even if they weren’t necessarily the happiest moments of their lives. The best example I can provide for you is Kim Kardashian and her new fragrance True Reflection, which will be launching in June and will be available at all Lord & Taylor retailers.

Even after Kim K’s unfortunate divorce that lasted a lot less than what society usually expects (72 days to be exact), Kim decided to place all her life experiences into a fragrance (how nice is it to let it all out and make money from it!). Through WWD she made it clear that the fragrance isn’t all about her divorce but it is part of who she is. Her exact words about True Reflection were “It is about overcoming things and letting your true self come out.”
From what I hear it doesn’t smell like divorce instead just pure happiness, fruity and floral bliss! So make sure you guys pick up Kimmy’s new fragrance in early June since she hasn’t produced one since 2009! And make sure to send one this way!

Hear the Runway

I love any organization that helps those in need so when I heard about Hear the Runway I was very excited! Why? Not only because the organization is working towards a great cause but also because it turns fashion into something that can really change someone’s life.

Hear the Runway is an organization that was founded by Dr. Leslie D. Walker who is an educational audiologist that works with deaf and hearing-impaired teens in Florida. After years of working with these kids, Dr. Walker noticed that self-esteem was low in her patients. So naturally she wanted to help them in some way and what better way to give someone self-esteem and confidence than with fashion? And that’s how Hear the Runway was born!

It all started with a one-time runway show featuring Dr. Walker’s patients as the models. But the organization started catching some buzz and of course the students loved being a part of it all! This all has turned Hear the Runway into an organization whose ultimate goal is “to increase the self-esteem, self-worth, and self-image of teens who are deaf and hard of hearing, which will provide them with the strength and motivation they may need to lead productive lives after high school.” And of course there will be an annual runway show from now on!

All I have to say is ‘kudos!’ to Dr. Walker for creating such a great organization that will help so many teens!

Azealia Banks Invades Fashion and Music at the Met

I will literally die on the spot if the rumors are true that hip hop new-comer and Coachella breakout star, Azealia Banks attends AND performs at the Met Gala this coming Monday. Azealia tweeted “I can’t wait for the MET ball! I’m going as Alexander Wang‘s date. He custom made my outfit and shoes ! !!!! It’s soooo hot !” A performance hasn’t been confirmed yet, although the Met Gala’s first pick was Nicki Minaj who bailed last minute (A perfect replacement!).

Azealia’s style is killer right now and her music, although a little vulgar, is the perfect music to get a party started! Seeing her in a custom made Alexander Wang gown would top the night off for me, but if she performs there’s a slight chance I will faint!

If all of these rumors are true, I will definitely be crashing the Ball this year. And that’s a promise!

Christian Louboutin Soon to Bring Magical Moments in a Shoe

Once upon a time the shoe God’s sent us Christian Louboutin, and now Christian brings us magic and a glass shoe, just like our favorite fairytale, Cinderella. Oh and I am so serious by the way. See, just when you thought that this man couldn’t be any more creative and spectacular, he unveils his new masterpiece idea… a glass slipper, in dedication to Walt Disney’s release of our favorite princess movie, Cinderella.

The “glass slipper” will be Christian’s own interpretation, which literally gives me anxiety, the fact we have to wait until fall to see this beauty, and no we can’t just click our heels and make time fly by (I already tried), so we will have to be nice ladies and wait patiently for this magical moment to happen.

On a happier note, at least with these glass shoes we can still all be princesses after midnight, however I do not guarantee the happily ever after part, we’re New Yorkers for god sakes! It’s only right to quote; Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo fashionista’s and stay tuned for the preview of this work of art.

Betsey + Lulu

Who doesn’t love the fun and forever-young Betsey Johnson? I mean, the woman has the energy of a child and a smile that will brighten your day! And of course we can’t forget about the fabulous fashion she’s give us over time.

Her fun and over the top personality has helped her land her own reality TV show! And she won’t be alone; her daughter Lulu Johnson will join her in her fun antics that we will now all be allowed to witness and be a part of. The show will be simply titled Betsey + Lulu and will air later this year in the Style Network.

We seriously cannot wait!

Before I go on and on and on about how amazing it is that all of our favorite designers are bringing us stylish sneakers to our Spring and Summer wardrobe, let me just thank Humberto Leon and Carol Lim for bringing fabulous sneakers to my closet!

Armani Goes GAGA for the Born This Way Ball Tour

Everyone beware because Lady Gaga is at it again with crazy fashion and a brand new tour! The extra flamboyant risk taking fashion and music icon is embarking on her Born This Way Ball tour and is collaborating with Giorgio Armani for the costumes! Armani, who has dressed Miss Gaga numerous times says he is excited to work with her again and calls her an artist of many talents and great intelligence.

The looks will include some fun materials like studs, crystals, latex, plexiglas, and fringe, as well as a costume constructed with abstract guitars. The sketches are out, so now we will just have to wait until the 27th to see them in real life!

Nicki Minaj Soon to Launch a Fragrance

Remember a few weeks ago when I spoke to you guys about Nicki Minaj being the new face for MAC’s 2012 AID’s Fund Campaign? Well now she has recently announced her new project, and it smells like a success.

Our lovely Nicki is launching a fragrance, which will be available in department stores this upcoming fall. Aside from all her alter egos and personalities she has one more and it’s the mysterious one, because she hasn’t blurred out any details about this fragrance yet; however no worries I will keep you guys updated on any juicy details.

What I can tell you is she is partnering with Give Back Brands, meaning Nicki is working towards a good cause and will donate all net profits generated from her fragrance to a charity of her choice (how sweet is she?). Nicki can be easily classified as a stylish and creative business model, and isn’t that what all us women should strive to be?
